What makes these pans different from regular nonstick? Traditional nonstick coatings are soft and scratch easily. Ours uses a laser-etched stainless steel hexagon pattern that creates raised peaks for searing and protected valleys for nonstick performance. The steel peaks take the beating so the nonstick coating underneath keeps working. You can use metal utensils without destroying the surface.
Is the nonstick coating safe? Yes. Our TerraBond ceramic nonstick is PTFE-free and free from PFAS — the "forever chemicals" found in many traditional nonstick pans. Independent lab testing verified that every pan comes back "Non-Detect" for PFAS compounds, meaning any potential presence is so low it can't even be measured.
Can I use metal utensils on these pans? That's one of the main reasons people buy them. The stainless steel hexagon pattern is designed to take the abuse. You don't have to baby these pans with plastic or wood utensils.
Are they oven-safe? Yes, up to 500°F. Just make sure the lid (if you're using one) is also oven-safe. The glass lids are typically rated for 350°F, so check before you slide the whole thing in.
How do I clean them? Dishwasher-safe. But honestly, most of the time a quick rinse with warm soapy water and a soft sponge is all you need. Stuff just slides off. For stuck-on bits, let it soak for a few minutes first.
Do I need to season them before first use? Yes, and it's easy. Spread a teaspoon of oil across the surface on medium-low heat for two to three minutes. Performance actually improves with each use over time.
What's the warranty situation? Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. If something fails because of how it was made, we'll replace it. Commercial and restaurant use is excluded, and so is damage from misuse.
Will these work on my induction cooktop? Yes. The magnetic stainless steel base is compatible with gas, electric, and induction cooktops.
